It follows the same methodology as the first two works. It contains entries for 1629 printed and manuscript worksproducedon Ottoman landsduringthe Ottoman period,on scientific subjects relatingtogeography, cosmographyandcartography.The findings of this comprehensive survey show that advances were made in both Western -and Eastern – oriented geographical sciences throughout the Ottoman period. Their parallel progress continued until Westerntype geographical science became dominant in the 19th century following the establishment of universities which included geography in their curricula. The main centre of geographical reseach was İstanbul.
