A course of Mathematical methods of physics may not be a replica of mathematical courses with their completeness, abstract and sometimes artificial modelsoften alien to the physical style of thinking. It must be an effective introduction into the most necessary and basic methods applied. It should be in no way a collection of applications to physical problems, but `methods` for solving them.
