Gelince Haber VerThe Children of Northern Lights" takes you on an epic journey into the world of Viking mythology. Are you ready to explore the traces of Siberian-Turkic mythology in this mythical adventure? When enough research is conducted, it is possible to discern similar motifs between Viking and Siberian-Turkic mythologies. In Viking epics, the mention of the name "Turkland," Odin`s journey from Turkland to the north, the association of Attila behind the Odin myth, the origin of the name Odin found in Turkish mythology, Odin being a shaman, the equivalence of Odin`s eight-legged horse Sleipnir in Yakut and Altai myths, the resemblance of Viking mythology`s World Tree Yggdrasil to the Tree of Life in Turkish myths (Aal Luuk Mas), the evocation of the battle of Aesir-Vanir gods reminiscent of the Goth-Hun battles, and the striking similarity in motifs such as the eagle, dragon and the creation of humans from a tree in Viking mythology, lead us to the conclusion that there may be commonalities between these two mythologies. The existence of such similar cultural motifs indicates that Turkish culture and myths may have influenced Scandinavian/German societies and Viking epic-mythology writers.
